The Madison Transatlantic Initiative, a joint effort of the UW-Madison Division of International Studies and the four member programs of the European Studies Alliance, evaluates the strengths of the transatlantic relationship and develops strategies for making them more widely understood. The initiative consists of a series of international conferences, workshops, and other outreach events. As a leading global university, the UW-Madison is home to an internationally renowned set of programs focusing on European studies. Four programs - the Center for European Studies, the European Union Center, the Center for German and European Studies, and the Center for Interdisciplinary French Studies - work collaboratively as the European Studies Alliance, and enjoy an international reputation for excellence in training the next generation of transatlantic and global leaders. The Madison Transatlantic Initiative draws on the strengths of the university and its significant partnerships with leading educational and community organizations in Europe.
