International Institute Programs

African Studies Program
The African Studies Program has curriculum materials, as well as links to other useful sources online.

Center for East Asian Studies
The Center for East Asian Studies engages in PK-12 outreach with a variety of programs including teacher workshops along with referral and resource assistance.

Center for European Studies
CES seeks to increase awareness and understanding of the emergence of a New Europe after the end of the Cold War by providing activities and resources for PK-12 teachers.

European Center of Excellence
The EU Center of Excellence actively seeks to disseminate and increase knowledge about the EU for teachers in high schools and at the college level.

Center for Interdisciplinary French Studies
CIFS works with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction on France-Wisconsin teacher and student exchanges.

Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies Program
LACIS provides online outreach resources, events and workshops for educators.

Middle East Studies Program
The Middle East Studies Program seeks to promote knowledge of Middle Eastern history and culture both on and off campus.

Center for Russia, East Europe and Central Asia
CREECA devotes its resources to the development of innovative research and teaching on these critical world regions.

Center for Southeast Asian Studies
Southeast Asian Studies provides resource materials and conferences for teachers.

Global Studies
Global Studies is involved in all levels of outreach, with a goal of providing educators and community leaders with the tools to integrate global content into curriculum and community programs.

Other PK-12 Outreach

Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER)
CIBER works in cooperation with EconomicsWisconsin, a private, non-profit organization that promotes economics education among PK-12 teachers.

International Reach
International Reach is a volunteer program that places international speakers in Madison area schools, campus venues, and community organizations for short presentations.

Language Institute
The Institute's mission is to promote the study of languages, literatures, and cultures.

Wisconsin International Outreach Consortium (WIOC)
Provides resources and expertise on world areas to K-12 teachers, post-secondary educators, businesses, the media, and the community at large. WIOC will host the National Conference of Title VI Outreach Coordinators in April 2006. Click here for more information.
