About the AdministrationWe have compiled this online handbook for your reference in running International Institute Programs and Research Circles. The Research Circles belong to the International Institute and are funded by the Division of International Studies and Programs. Three of the research circles are, however, administered by the Global Studies Program on behalf of the International Institute. These three are the Legacies of Violence, Global Citizenship and Environment and Development Research Circle. The remainder are administered out of the Division of International Studies. The International Institute serves as a catalyst for international education on campus and is UW-Madison's portal to the world. It is comprised of sixteen member programs. Who's Who in International StudiesGilles Bousquet is the Dean of International Studies and Director of the International Institute. Guido Podesta is Associate Dean of Research in International Studies. She is directly responsible for assisting the Research Circles and New Research Initiatives.
